My creative partners and I wanted to create a program to assist disabled veterans in regaining their independence by providing them with brand-new, retrofitted vehicles. The idea was to somehow give back to them the freedoms they may have lost while serving our country. We came up with a program called Driven to Drive, and it would partner with AutoNation. Each year, we’d work with different veteran groups, such as DAV and RWB, to find a veteran in need and gift them a new, customized vehicle. The program became wildly successful and is in its 7th year. The program’s ongoing sponsorships with these organizations show a sustained commitment to supporting and engaging with the veteran community and show no sign of stopping. I am most proud of this program and the many men and women I met during the production.
